GNAG Community Theatre is thrilled to present Something Rotten!

Theatre is always a risky business. Shakespeare is a rockstar. Literally. And his rivals? Two struggling playwrights who are desperate for a hit until a slightly offbeat soothsayer predicts the future of theatre: Tragedy with singing! Comedy with dancing! Wait… what? A musical? A show set in the 1590s with the energy, comedy, and music of the 21st century!

Something Rotten! is a laugh-out-loud mashup of Elizabethan costume drama, Broadway razzle-dazzle, and Monty Python-style madness — with a joyful shuffle-step through AnnieJesus Christ Superstar, and all your favourite musicals.

Stratford is also putting on Something Rotten! this year after only having produced it in 2024. Stratford almost never repeats a play this quickly but clearly it’s because it’s an amazingly funny and clever show. But you could see it here first!
  • Child (under 12 years): $28+ ticketing fees
  • Adult: $38+ ticketing fees
  • Student (12+) / Senior (65 +): $33+ ticketing fees

This musical is PG-13 — There are lots of jokes that are double entendre that will be picked up by grown-ups, but not by children. It’s bawdy but not rated R, just the jokes are on a more adult level, so it won’t be nearly as funny for kids.
