Glebe 2024 Mural: CALL FOR ARTISTS

March 14, 2024

Submission Deadline: Monday, March 25, 2024, at 12 p.m.

Contact: chloepark@intheglebe.ca

The Glebe BIA is seeking a new mural submission for the 2024 mural installation. Artist and artist teams are invited to propose mural projects that will enrich the on-street experience in the neighbourhood.

The Glebe BIA has seen the installation of over 20 murals in the Glebe over the years and the goal this year is to support local artists, celebrate diversity and inclusion, deter graffiti, add vibrancy to our streetscape, and pay homage the Glebe.

Requirements & Guidelines:

  • A Letter of Interest no more than two pages, explaining the artist’s or artist’s teams’ interest in the project, experience working on comparable projects, and a statement of artistic approach.
  • A Resume no more than two pages, including artist training, professional experience, and public art commissions. If submitting as a team, a separate resume for each artist is required.
  • One to three work samples (including title, year, location, and image) of your past or current art projects.
  • A project name with a design concept sketch.
  • An approximate budget for the project (note that commission is to be determined based on project scope once the location of the mural installation has been chosen).
  • A maintenance plan for the project.
  • Contact information.

Eligibility:

Designs with wording, advertisements or promotion for a business, product or viewpoint will not be chosen. Designs may not include any breach of intellectual property, trademarks, brands, or images of illegal activity.

Commission:

To be determined based on project scope once the location of the mural installation has been chosen.

Application:

Applications must be submitted by noon on Monday, March 25, 2024.

How to Submit:

Please email submissions and/or questions to Glebe BIA Programming & Events Manager, Chloe Park, at chloepark@intheglebe.ca.
