FAQ

Weather

This event is rain or shine! In the event of thunderstorms or extreme weather, Event Organizers are required to pause event activities. Updates will be posted on the Glebe BIA social media channels.

Washrooms

In addition to the washrooms that are located in your favourite restaurants and cafes when you support these shops, public washrooms are available at Glebe Collegiate Institute, St. Matthew’s Church, and at Lansdowne Park.

Transit and Cycling

There are over 250 Bike Parking Spots at Lansdowne Park. We recommend parking there, and walking up through the Glebe along Bank Street to see the entire Sale!

OC Transpo bus routes 6 and 7 provide direct service to the Glebe.

The OC Transpo northbound and southbound bus stops at Third Avenue and Bank Street will be closed from 5:00 am to 6:30 pm.

Parking & Driving

Parking will be extremely limited in the Glebe during this event. Please plan to take public transit or make alternative arrangements to get to the Glebe. New parking restrictions will be in place this year to make this event more pedestrian friendly.

Bank Street Parking

Most sections of paid Bank Street parking will be unavailable from 5am – 4pm. This lane is reserved for BIA merchants and their safety and enforcement will be in place. 

Glebe Residents

The following streets will be closed to visitor parking. Glebe residents with residential parking permits may park as usual on:

-Glebe Avenue between Lyon Street and O’Connor Street 

-First Avenue between Lyon Street and O’Connor Street 

-Second Avenue between Lyon Street and O’Connor Street 

-Third Avenue between Lyon Street and O’Connor Street 

-Fourth Avenue between Lyon Street and O’Connor Street

Additionally, Second and Fourth Avenues will be closed at Bank Street to turning traffic. Access to these avenues will be maintained for Local Access Only at Lyon and O’Connor.

Visitor Parking

Parking is available on adjacent streets west of Lyon Street and east of O’Connor Street. 

Visitors are encouraged to use alternative transportation, such as cycling or public transit. 

Paid parking will be available in the Lansdowne Park underground garage and the City of Ottawa parking garage. The City of Ottawa parking garage access will be closed on Second Avenue and only be accessible from Third Avenue. 

4-Hour Accessible Parking will be available for permit holders only at the Third Avenue parking zone, on the south-side of Third Avenue at Bank.
