Jericho Lebanese Food
Raouf came to Canada in the 1980s after living in a Refugee Camp in Palestine, and completed his arts studies in the Middle East. He started working at what is now Jericho as a waiter, and when the Lebanese family who owned it decided to sell, he was transformed from waiter to restauranteur. Since then, he has maintained a loyal group of Patrons, with new Patrons discovering the place each week.
The secret to Jericho’s success is Raouf’s poetic hospitality, seamless artistry, and as it gets reflected in each plate of food – time and time again, – which explains why people keep returning, with friends, family, acquaintances, associates from across the City and the world.
When you step into Jericho, you are also stepping into The Raouf Omar Gallery – with his unique style of painting and of creating a visual art work, the walls shine with colors and forms that remind that you are in a pleasant Middle Eastern inspired restaurant. So it is both a unique and enlightening Art Gallery and fabulous cuisine experience in one, the moment you walk through the doors. As is often the case, you will be welcomed by Raouf himself, with a smile and always something kind to say and to recommend items off the brilliant, carefully created menu.
