On December 11 from 5pm-8pm, the Glebe BIA is hosting its first Holiday Shopping Night!
BIA Members are encouraged to participate with an in-store special offer to help create some sparkle along Bank Street as the Holidays approach.
What Is It?
The Glebe Glimmer Holiday Shopping Night, from 5pm-8pm on Thursday December 11, 2025, is a celebration of the unique shopping experience customers can enjoy in the Glebe.
The Glebe BIA is organizing on-street animations, giveaways and special surprises for Holiday Shoppers, but this event needs our local businesses to participate!
Registration Required
We are asking Glebe BIA Businesses to let us know if and how they will be participating. We will be promoting this in advance across Ottawa, and it’s a great chance to showcase what your business can highlight during the holiday season! If you’re not sure what to offer, take a look at our list of ideas below for businesses of all kinds!

Special Neighbourhood Activations
To make the most of the Holiday Sparkle, the BIA team is organizing a handful of neighbourhood special events and giveaways to entice more customers to the Glebe during the Glebe Glimmer Shopping Night. There will be giveaways, roaming elves, photo moments and live music throughout the night! Stay tuned for more details.
Restaurants, Cafes & Dining:
-Pilot a New Item: try out a new menu item or cocktail you have been thinking about introducing
-Introduce a Dine-In Special: encourage or create new clients with an eat-in special menu or dining feature (i.e. Add on dessert for $X)
-In-Store Samples: new or returning product, or customer favourite bite-size items with purchase
-Chance-to-Win Gift Card with purchase
-Future free dining special (i.e. 2-for-1 future redemption)
-Holiday or Winter Themed menu items
-Consider hosting a trivia, games or social night from 5-8pm to focus on getting people in the door. Don’t forget the Glebe Spree Triple Sticker Special!
Retail, Boutiques & Storefronts:
-Discount vouchers for future use (with or without purchase) – 5-10% goes a long way!
-In-store snacks and features – don’t underestimate what a little in-store snacking can do!
-In-store discount for 3-hours only
-Custom gift bundles with special promotional rate
-Specialty giveaways (pet stores = free dog treats, etc.)
-BOGO Sales
-Complementary Gift Wrapping Station with unique, branded wrapping
