PETAL PEDAL with the Canadian Tulip Festival
WE ARE INVITING OUR GLEBE FRIENDS & NEIGHBOURS !!
PepTides to Perform at #Petal #Pedal Popup in Popular Pavilion
In a wild celebration of all things spring, all things colour, and all things wacky, Ottawa’s beloved party band, The PepTides, will take to the stage at Aberdeen Pavilion on May 18.
The cyclist-friendly, Amsterdam-inspired event is presented by Call Betty in conjunction with the Canadian Tulip Festival and will feature two sets of the band’s famously theatrical music hosted by the capital’s darling drag queen, China Doll.
In addition to admiring Dems and Doll’s distinctive urban murals and cooling off with craft drinks from local favourites Beau’s and Top Shelf, fun lovers can snap a selfie beside a giant vibrant oversized tulip, play tulip pong, and nosh on mini donuts from Donut Rain on My Parade.
If that weren’t enough, they can also taste a tulip julep—the official drink of the Canadian Tulip Festival—while witnessing an inflatable horse race. No joke.
“This thing is going to be completely out of control!” says painter and PepTides founder Claude MarQuis.
The Dutch DJ Warfy will be spinning dance tunes late into the night. And, in proper Amsterdam style, bike valet will be available. A smattering of local vendors will be there in style too.
Petals + Pedals + Performers + PepTides + Pastries + Pong + Paintings + Popup = PARTY!
Advance tickets are available for $20 at the link below and for $25 at the door. The event runs from 8:00 p.m. to midnight.
