Jane's Walk: Trees You Need to See

Arts & Culture

Location:

Meet at corner of Oakland Avenue and Wilton Crescent

The Glebe Community Association’s Environment Committee invites you to take a guided walk through “Glebe South” to learn about local trees and share tree lore. On the 1-km route, you will encounter basswood, silver maple, bitternut hickory, hemlock, red oak, burr oak, and rock elm. Guide Owen Clarkin, well known for his tree expertise, will share a wealth of knowledge about our urban forest and invite others to share their own. Jane’s Walks honour Jane Jacobs, whose vision of the organic city has been a major influence on urban planning since the 1960s.
