Weekend What’s Up: Vegans, Jazz Cats and Football Fans in the Glebe

Vegans, fitness buffs, jazz cats and football fans will be smiling their weekend away in the Glebe.

There is everything from a REDBLACKS Game and live jazz to a vegan market that boasts all the greens you can handle.

It all kicks off Friday night when the Ottawa REDBLACKS host the Toronto Argonauts in the final regular season game of the year. The REDBLACKS locked up first place in the east with their stomping of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last weekend, and now will ride their way to the Nov. 18 East Final against either the BC Lions of the Tiger-Cats. Saturday will feature The Ottawa Vegan Market – a 100% vegan event showcasing the best food, products and services that the vegan community of Ottawa has to offer. If you are vegetarian/vegan or are just interested in one of the fastest growing lifestyle choices, this event is for you. This year’s market will feature two sections inside the Aberdeen Pavilion. One will be a vendor showcase-style room while the other will feature a hot food court where patrons can sit and enjoy a warm vegan meal. Tickets range between $5-10. Start your Sunday off right with a workout with GoodLife Fitness. They’ll having you climbing all those steps at TD Place stadium before push-ups, sit ups, lunges and squats. You’ll feel the burn. More jazz? Head over to The Arrow and Loon for their Sunday Vocal Jazz Series. The Bank Street pub hosts a rotating roster of jazz vocalists in Ottawa backed by the popular Glebop Jazz Trio.
