Weekend What’s Up: REDBLACKS, Aladdin and Escapade Music Fest in the Glebe
Calling all sports fans, book worms, ravers and theatre junkies – this weekend is for you in the Glebe.
Even though the weekend doesn’t typically begin until about 4:43 p.m. on a Friday, those in the Glebe will be celebrating early.
It all kicks off Thursday night when the Ottawa REDBLACKS take to TD Place to face the Saskatchewan Roughriders for the team’s home-opener. The REDBLACKS stunned the Calgary Stampeders in their season opener last week, edging the defending Grey Cup champs 32-28 for their first-ever franchise win in Cowtown. The REDBLACKS put it all on the line tonight with a chance to improve to 2-0 to start the season. Kickoff is at 7 p.m., but the fun starts around 3:30 p.m. along Bank Street where super fans, face-painters, and live music will greet buzzing REDBLACKS fans heading to the game. There will also be a mobile photo booth stationed in front the Aberdeen Pavilion, complete with all the silly props to create some lasting family memories. Come early, stay late and let’s cheer on our REDBLACKS. Click here for more info on tonight’s game.
