Weekend What’s Up: Panda Game, Latin Expo, Gridiron Grill all in the Glebe
If you’re like the rest of us, trying to squeeze every last little drop of summer out of whatever is left, then you will probably want to head to the Glebe this weekend for some raucous football, music, food and a Latin party for the ages.
Your weekend kicks off early with a breakfast with some of your favourite football stars. The REDBLACKS may be on their bye week, but you can still share a plate of eggs with kicker Lewis Ward and Defensive Back Sherrod Baltimore. The two are hosting the RNation Breakfast at Sunset Grill Oct. 4 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Bring your questions and your appetite. Click here for details.
The Glebe will be buzzing with college football fans Saturday afternoon, as the fabled Panda Game returns to TD Place for the epic rivalry between the Carleton Ravens and the uOttawa Gee Gees. Considered the most anticipated football game of U Sports, the cross-town showdown will see the Ravens try to get back to their Panda Game dominance, as Carleton has won four of the last five. The Gee Gees trounced the Ravens 28-27 in last year’s game. The overall series since 1955 stands at 33-15 for the Gee Gees. This year’s Panda Game kicks off at noon. Click here for tickets.
Pumpkins, pumpkins, get your pumpkins at the Ottawa Farmers’ Market. Yes, it’s time to start thinking about Thanksgiving and Halloween and pumpkin pie and everything fall. The Market runs every Sunday at the Aberdeen Square (Aberdeen Pavilion in winter) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Grab everything you need for a perfect Thanksgiving and Halloween. Click here for details.
