Kick off your weekend right by bringing that shower voice into the spotlight. Anyone can croon their favourite guilty pleasure toon in the shower, but do you have the guts to perform it live? Head to Pints and Quarts every Thursday for their weekly Karaoke Night. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a pro, have no rhythm or can’t hit a note, you’ll still be cheered on from the crowd. The karaoke nights run ever Thursday at 10 p.m. Click here for details. The pub also features live music this Sunday featuring local singer-songwriter Seb Ciel. Advocate for French-language services in Ottawa at the Le gala des prix Bernard Grandmaître on Thursday night at the Horticulture Building. The night will recognize community leaders and their efforts to maintain French-language services in Ottawa. Click here for details.

Bargain hunters who have been waiting for the return of 613 Flea can emerge from their basements this weekend as the Glebe’s monthly flea market returns this Saturday. Explore everything from used goods, handmades, vintage finds, vinyl, retro video games and so much more. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. inside the Aberdeen Pavilion. Click here for details.

Saturday night is for lovers in the Glebe. Grab your hunny, lace up your skates and loop around the rink at TD Place for the DJ Skate Night: Date Night. And at just $5, you can even afford to take your special someone out for a dessert afterwards. The date skate runs from 7-10 p.m. Click here for details.

On Sunday, head to the Ottawa Winter Farmers’ Market for the freshest produce around. Browse from scores of merchants as you wind your way through the Aberdeen Pavilion. The market runs every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Click here for more information.

Are you a caregiver? Join the weekly Sunday Social at the Abbotsford House and mingle with others who are in a similar situation. This week will feature a photo café with Ron Martin. Participants are encouraged to bring in old photographs to share. The event is free for caregivers and their loved one. Registration required. Click here for details.

Take in some live music at Pints and Quarts Sunday night

Looking to create some live music?  Head to Collabo Café Sunday for a cool new music event that invites the public to sample music and play it back to a live audience. The Ottawa Loop Sessions allows participants to sample beats from a selected record, then bring those samples to their own workstation to record a track. Everything is provided, all you have to do is show up and sample some beats. The event runs from 5-10 p.m. Click here for details.

Another perfect weekend in the Glebe. Will we see you down here?
