Weekend What’s Up: Fury, Craft Beer, Flora Footbridge Celebrations and the Canadian Kombucha Festival
This weekend is packed with fun activities for music lovers, sports fans, craft beer enthusiasts, kombucha aficionados and everything in between! Make the most of your weekend by checking out what’s going in the neighborhood.
On Saturday, celebrate the opening of the Flora Footbridge! Following the completion of the bridge ahead of schedule and under budget, the neighboring communities are organizing a gathering to officially celebrate their new connection. At 4 p.m., in the middle of the bridge, children are invited to bring their scissors and jointly cut the ribbon. All attendees are invited to the Old Ottawa East side for a piece of cake, followed by a walk across the bridge to the Glebe side for a glass of lemonade. Click here for more information.
Calling soccer fans and patio lovers! The Ottawa Fury FC will face the Swope Park Rangers on Saturday at 7 p.m. The entire section behind our home goal will be transformed into a Patio Party! From fresh BBQ food, cold drinks, games, tables and umbrellas – you and your friends are sure to be entertained all match long. After the game, fans are welcome onto the pitch to meet their favourite players. Get your tickets for the match here. The Ottawa Fury FC will also take on the Halifax Wanderers in the second leg of the Canadian Championship on Wednesday, July 24 at 7:30 p.m. Ottawa won leg one by a score of 3-2, so you don’t want to miss their next match. If you want to start the party early before the soccer match on Saturday or you just love great craft beers, then hop on the Brew Donkey bus! Buses will pick up fans at 4 p.m. at TD Place between Gate 3 and Aberdeen Pavilion. You’ll visit a local brewery for an exclusive tour and tasting, fresh pretzels, prizes and dad jokes. Don’t worry, you’ll be back in time for the Fury soccer match to catch the game from the best seats in the house – right on the pitch in the Patio Party zone. Grab your tickets for the Brew Donkey Bus here. (Is the game included in the tour price?)
