Weekend What’s Up: Blue Man Group, 613 Flea and Farmers’ Market in the Glebe
Glebe residents may be feeling a bit blue this weekend – but it’s not because of the weather, the cold or the never-ending winter that seems to have its stranglehold on us.
The blue feeling you have has more to do with the three talented dudes that are set to paint TD Place in psychedelic fashion. Yes, the legendary and iconic Blue Man Group are coming to the Glebe.
But the Blue Man Group shows are just a drop in the large paint bucket of activity that will be spilling out over the neighbourhood this weekend.
The weekend kicks off early on Thursday with the 19th Annual Prix Bernard Grandmaître Gala in celebration of people and organizations who are dedicated to the Franco-Ottawa community. This year’s gala will take place in the Horticulture Building from 6-10 p.m. Click here for tickets.
Want your say in how Bank Street develops in the future? Join representatives from the City of Ottawa and the Glebe Community Association for an open house on Bank Street in the Glebe: Height and Character Study. The open runs from 7-9 p.m. this Thursday at the Glebe Community Centre. Click here for details.
Don your blue and watch the colours fly. The legendary Blue Man Group takes over the arena at TD Place for three shows Feb. 21-23, including a matinee on Sunday at 3 p.m. You’ll rock, laugh and party at this epic show that has gained world wide popularity. Sit in the splash zone and come home with newly-coloured outfit. These guys are fun, weird and simply epic. Click here for tickets.
On Saturday, you’ll want to show up at the Aberdeen Pavilion with a suitcase to fill with all sorts of goodies, vintage finds and antique gifts at 6134 Flea. The monthly flea market is back this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Browse hundreds of vendors and score serious deals on everything from comic books and video games to antique furniture. Click here to start digging for your treasure.
Browse local produce, artisanal goods and artwork at the Ottawa Farmer’s Market this, and every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Ottawa Farmers’ Market is the only year-round, producer-only farmers’ market in Ottawa. This means that every vendor at our market grows, makes, and bakes everything that they offer from within 100 kms of the City of Ottawa. Click here for more information.
It’s another fun weekend in the Glebe.
