Weekend What’s Up: 67’s hockey, ice skating, clothing drive and hip hop in the Glebe
To say that the Ottawa 67’s are having a dynamite season would be a major understatement. The Barber Poles currently sit in first overall in the OHL, a whopping eight points ahead of the second-place Kitchener Rangers.
And it’s not only the OHL that is turning their attention to the 67’s, but the entire country, as the team is ranked #1 among all three Canadian junior hockey leagues. They’ve compiled an impressive record of 34-7 with a franchise record-breaking win streak that was snapped at 17 games. They’ve also been hot of late, winning 9 of their last 10 games.
But hockey’s not the only thing on tap this weekend in the Glebe. Your weekend starts early on Thursday for the Bad & Boujee Glebetrotting Clothing Drive launch. Collabo Café and Call Betty have teamed up with the Bad & Boujee clothing drive to collect used clothing for those in need. The campaign runs Jan. 23 – Feb. 8 with an opening reception from 5-8 p.m. this Thursday. There will be coffee, pastries and the new Mocktail menu. Click here for details.
Also Thursday is the continuation of the Caregiver Talks at The Abbotsford House. Caregivers are invited to attend a number of talks on transitioning into a caregiver lifestyle. The events are free, but require pre-registration. The talk is from 6-8 p.m. Thursday night. Click here for details.

On Friday, grab your skates and head to the Arena at TD Place for a free public skate from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The ice is open for you, your family, your friends and your hot date to zip around the rink. Skaters are asked to enter through Gate 2. Click here for more information.

The party kicks off at 6 p.m. Click here for tickets.
On Sunday, head inside the Aberdeen Pavilion for the Ottawa Winter Farmers’ Market where you can browse produce, artisan goods, vintage finds and other treasures. The Farmers’ Market runs every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Click here for details.
