Weekend What’s Up: 67’s double header, 613 Flea, Fury and Farmers’ Market in the Glebe
Hockey heads, soccer fans and shoppers will find plenty to do in the Glebe this weekend. From a fiery Fury FC club fresh off their postseason berth to the Ottawa 67’s who are trying to work out the kinks, there’s lots to feast on this long weekend.
It all kicks off Friday night when the Ottawa 67’s take on Mississauga for an early-season tilt at TD Place. After starting the season 3-0, the 67’s were the number one ranked team in the CHL. But the team has slipped to 10th after back to back losses at the hands of the London Knights and the Kitchener Rangers. The 67’s currently sit in 6th place in the OHL’s Eastern Conference at 4-3-0. But a couple of wins this weekend would catapult them up the standings. Friday’s game is also toonie beer night, so you’ve got plenty of reasons to go. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. Click here for tickets. The 67’s also host Kingston on Thanksgiving Monday. Click here for tickets to that game.
Bargain hunters can probably already feel the pull towards the Aberdeen Pavilion, as 613 Flea takes over Lansdowne for a day full of fun, quirky and vintage shopping. Explore a range of items, from clothing to kitchen stuff, vinyl to video games, comic books to cooking books. It’s all under one roof from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Click here for more information.
Fresh off the biggest win of the season, which gave them their first playoff berth since 2015, the Fury FC is ready to hit the pitch in a post season tune-up against Bethlehem Sunday. The Fury sit in eighth place in the USL Standings, but could move up to potentially 6th place with a win this weekend. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. Click here for tickets.
Head to the Ottawa Farmers’ Market for any last-minute Thanksgiving shopping, as the market runs every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Grab all the pumpkins you need for a tasty thanksgiving and a spooky Halloween. Click here for details.
