Rock heads and food lovers unite in the Glebe this weekend

Break out your acid wash jeans, slip on that cut off tee and lace up your high tops, because it’s a weekend of nostalgic 80s rock in the Glebe.

Music fans will be in hair metal heaven when Foreigner and Judas Priest take over the Arena at TD Place this weekend for two separate shows that will give you a reason to pull that dusty denim vest out of the basement trunk.

Hot Blooded music fans will be seeing Double Vision Friday night when Foreigner brings out their sonic bag of tricks that have made them one of the world’s most popular rock bands. The band has sold more than 75 million albums in their 40-year career with hits like Feels Like The First Time, Urgent and Cold as Ice. Come out and sing some old favourites at the Arena at TD Place in the Glebe. Tickets are between $69 and $89. More information here.

But the music doesn’t stop there. Just two days later, TD Place will get even louder when heavy metal legends Judas Priest bring their Firepower Tour to the Glebe Sunday night. While the hall of fame rockers are touring with their new album, Firepower, you can expect to hear classic favourites like Delivering the Goods, Breaking the Law and You’ve Got Another Thing Coming. Fill your sweet tooth Saturday afternoon at the Horticulture Building, which will be transformed into a giant urban sugar shack. Take a food tour of some of the Glebe’s top restaurants with C’est Bon Cooking’s Taste of the Glebe Tour Sunday afternoon. cruise through the Ottawa Farmers’ Market, take a stroll along Bank Street and check out some of the food shops at Lansdowne and beyond.
