Reopening in the Glebe: House and Home Shops
As businesses begin to reopen in the Glebe, it’s more important than ever to support the local economy. We have put together a new blog series highlighting local businesses as they reopen in the neighbourhood.
This week we highlight house and home shops that will help you do everything from transforming your outdoor space into the perfect backyard patio to fixing anything that needs some TLC.
Here’s a list of shops to spruce up the house, sharpen up the kitchen and redecorate the basement. Get to work!
You’ll likely be spending more time than normal in your backyard this summer, so why not make it the oasis you’ve always dreamed of. Capital Home Hardware has everything you’ll need to create that paradise. New barbecue? Check. Patio furniture? Check. Slick firepit? Check. Plus, the Bank Street hardware store has everything you need for repairs, renovations and the tools to do the work. The shop also offers online shopping and curbside pick up.
*Note: Only five customers permitted in store at one time. Please respect all physical distancing guidelines.
If you need to sharpen up your kitchen, there’s not better place than Knifewear. The Bank Street knife shop is back open seven days a week where you can browse rare Japanese blades, accessories and other cutting edge kitchen tools. “It’s good to be back but it’s important to us that we do so safely,” says Knifewear Manager Chris Lord. “Thanks for the continued support.” Those looking for new razors and shaving gear can visit Kent of Inglewood at the rear of the shop. The shaving shop is back open with the same hours as Knifewear.
*Note: Customers are asked to wear a mask and to sanitize their hands upon arrival. If you don’t have a mask, a mask will be provided at no charge. Only four customers permitted inside at one time.

Shop in-store or online.
