Magic, soccer and fireworks all in the Glebe this weekend

Baldini the Magician is coming to Lansdowne in the Glebe Friday for Tulip Festival.

The Rhode Island magician, who has been dubbed The Man of Magical Mystery, has got his bag of tricks ready to wow kids and adults inside the Aberdeen Pavilion at 2 p.m. Friday for Tulip Festival.

Don’t miss this magical (pun definitely intended) show, it’s free for the whole family and the perfect way to start out a beautiful long weekend in the Glebe.

But it doesn’t stop there. Whatever your fancy is, there is sure to be something for you to sink your teeth in this weekend in the Glebe.

If you’re an art fan, wander through the Aberdeen Pavilion and check out the live tulip art on display all day. There’s also live music throughout the weekend on the Aberdeen Stage and diverse cultural programming from around the world on the International Pavilion Friendship stage. Check out what’s on here.

Soccer fans will get a battle-of-the-basement Sunday as the Ottawa Fury look to move up the standings with a win over Jacksonville Sunday afternoon. The Fury sit in 9th place with Jacksonville hot on their heels, just one point back in 10th. Sunday’s tilt promises to be a battle royale, with two struggling teams poised to turn their seasons around. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. at TD Place. Click here for tickets.

Don’t head home after the game, check out the entire Glebe, as you kill time until the Tulip Festival fireworks shoot off over TD Place Sunday night. Check out some new emerging talent at the Glebe Community Centre, as the Glebe Neighbourhood Activities Group (GNAG) art show and sale is on the entire month of May.
