Lots to do in the Glebe’s Winter Wonderland
The Glebe is the place to be this weekend, especially if you’re into winter fun, snowmen, hockey, yoga, fashion, and superheroes and princesses.
From Friday night to Sunday evening, there is literally something for everyone in the Glebe, with Winterlude and Snowmania in full swing and a slate of family activities to get you off the couch and out into the neighbourhood.
Here’s a quick rundown on how you should be spending your weekend.
The Lansdowne Winter Garden
Feb. 3 to 18; All day
Lansdowne Civic Garden
Tour the Glowing winter garden every day during Winterlude at Lansdowne Park. Located behind the Horticulture Building, the garden is a fun way to see how magical winter can be. Click here for more information.
Ottawa 67’s vs. Oshawa Generals
Arena at TD Place
The Ottawa 67’s will look to notch their third win in a row this weekend when the Oshawa Generals blow into town for a matinee hockey game at TD Place. The team currently sits in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. Puck drop is at 2 p.m. Click here for tickets. Capital Catwalk into the Wild
Feb. 10; 7 p.m.
Step into the wild with Her Campus uOttawa for a night of fashion, food, fun, and fundraising in support of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. Click here for more information.
Feb. 11; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Build a lantern during the Snowmania Sundays at the Horticulture Building while Eccentric Adam and Zip-E the Clown entertain the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday throughout the winter festival. Click here for more information.
Feb. 11; 10 a.m.
Join Rama Lotus and the City of Ottawa for a free yoga class at the Horticulture Building Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Instructor Erin Bidlake will help you perfect that downward dog. Click here to read more.
Ottawa Princess and Superhero Dance Party
Feb. 11; 1 p.m.
Glebe Community Centre
Dress up as your favourite superhero or princess and come cut up a rug at the Glebe Community Centre Sunday afternoon. Tickets include snacks, a cupcake, free face painting and a live DJ. There will even be a superhero and princess hair salon to get your hair did. Proceeds go to the Ottawa Children’s Wish Foundation to help grant life-long wishes to children diagnosed with life threatening illness. The party gets cracking at 1 p.m. Click here for more details.
