With a fresh dump of snow on the way – 40 whopping centimeters of it – you might as well slip on the snow pants, bundle up, and celebrate the final weekend of Winterlude with a Family Day for the ages.

The Glebe will be packed full of family-friendly entertainment this holiday Monday, February 18 for Family Day with roaming entertainers, mesmerizing performances, face painting and a Family Day-themed Ottawa 67’s hockey game.

The fun all begins around 11 a.m. Monday, with The Cowguys who will be roaming Bank Street with their Family Day shenanigans. Watch them juggle fire and bowling pins throughout the neighbourhood – or maybe you’ll even be lucky enough to see them pull a rabbit out of a hat.

Contact juggler Lacey Lucidity brings her mesmerizing crystal ball juggling act back to the Glebe this Family Day. Follow this white queen along Bank Street as she wows passersby with her impressive performance, and maybe she’ll even let you give it a try.

Looking to capture some lasting, silly family memories? Stop by the mobile photo booth outside of Local Lansdowne and don some silly costumes to make it a Family Day to remember. Stop by the booth, pick your props and pose. We’ll be sharing these photos on Facebook throughout the day.

If you’re a hockey fan, you won’t even need to change out of your pajamas to enjoy the day. The Ottawa 67’s are hosting their annual Fam Jam Game Feb. 18 when they take on the North Bay Battalion at 2 p.m. Fans are encouraged to dress in their PJs for the game that will also feature some mysterious intermission performances throughout the game, the 6th annual Wiener Dog Race, as well as some Disney meet & greets at TD Place Arena. Bring your skates to the Glebe this Family Day and enjoy a skate along the picturesque Rideau Canal. Circus artist Marianne Trenka will be performing her hilarious show at the OLG stage at the Fifth Avenue Rest Area.

And don’t forget to enter your snowy creation into our Snowphy Trophy Challenge. The neighbourhood-wide snowman-building competition will send one lucky builder, or builders to shop at Mrs. Tiggy Winkle’s and Alicja Confections before heading out for a movie night at Cineplex Lansdowne. Enter online using #snowphytrophy or via email to trevorgreenway@intheglebe.ca. Click here for full contest details.

So, grab the family, grab your skates and make this Family Day the best yet, right here in the Glebe. Happy Family Day.
