Come make massive bubbles in the Glebe this weekend.

Come make massive bubbles in the Glebe this weekend.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to juggle, spin a diablo stick or master eye-popping hoola hoop tricks?

You’ll get your chance this Saturday during Lansdowne’s Community Days from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., as the Ottawa Circus School is putting on a free clinic for families looking to add a bit of performance to their household.

Kids will have the opportunity to don whacky costumes and play with comedic props while learning how to juggle, spin diablo and flower sticks and how to properly clown around.

Those who are more of the engineering type will be right at home in the Lansdowne Tent, where instructors will guide little builders in constructing structures and balancing acrobatic toys.

There will be face painting all day long, courtesy The Smile Factory and loads of bubble station for kids to send bobbing bubbles into the air.

There will be live buskers crooning tunes throughout Lansdowne and with the weather expected to hit 26C, it would be a good idea to bring your bathing suit to cool down in Lansdowne’s new water plaza.

The event is free all day.

Once you’re done mastering your circus skills, grab a bite and head to TD Place to watch the Ottawa Fury FC soccer team take on the Minnesota United FC at 7 p.m. The Fury sit in first place, losing just one game since the fall season opened up in early July.

There are loads of other events in the Glebe before the weekend hits. If you’re a Yogi, you will likely spend your lunch break Friday stretching in the park for Momentum Fridays. It’s free yoga and dance every Friday at Lansdowne Park.

Ottawa Fury

The Ottawa Fury take on the Minnesota United FC Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Ottawa Farmers’ Market is back on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at the Aberdeen Square with heaps of fresh produce and artisan crafts you won’t find anywhere else. The Market runs 11-6 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.

Things will get funky Sunday afternoon when the Azúcar! Latin Dance Company takes over Lansdowne for the Summer Art Series. The tunes start at 5:30 P.M.

It’s a weekend of fun In the Glebe.

Grab your clown shoes and meets us down here.
