Canada vs. Brazil, REDBLACKS vs Montreal this weekend in the Glebe
Everybody knows that the Glebe is the place to be this weekend – even Christine Sinclair.
The captain of Canada’s women’s national soccer team will be in the hood this Sunday, as her squad lines up for an international friendly match against Brazil at TD Place.
But the match will likely be anything but friendly, as both teams are gearing up for the FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier set for October. You’ll witness the country’s best female soccer players duke it out against the fifth-ranked Brazilians – and bragging rights will be on the line.
The match kicks off at 2 p.m. this Sunday. Tickets are still available and range between $20 and $80. Click here to get your seats now.
But Sunday’s game is the anchor to a brilliant sports weekend in the Glebe, as the Ottawa REDBLACKS look to notch their third consecutive win this Friday night against the Montreal Alouettes. You likely won’t see Johnny “football” Manziel, as the young star quarterback is still sidelined with a concussion. But if you think the REDBLACKS will just walk all over the CFL’s worst team without a flinch, just ask the Toronto Argonauts, who lost to the Als 25-22 last week. The REDBLACKS will have to keep firing on all cylinders like they have been to keep in their winning ways. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Click here for tickets.
Start your Sunday right with a morning workout. GoodLife Fitness is ready to whip you into shape at their weekly Lansdowne Stadium workout. You’ll be sweating in no time as you run up and down stairs, do push ups, sit ups and lunges. The workout is free for anyone 12 and older. Click here to start getting in shape.
Sunday also boasts the Ottawa Farmers’ Market at Lansdowne Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pick up all sorts of produce like Brussel sprouts, cabbage, and perhaps even some pumpkins will start showing up this weekend. Click here for more information.
