Beer and bites, hockey and winter market in the Glebe this weekend
Who doesn’t like beer and food?
The Glebe Neighbourhood Activities Group and Kichesippi Beer are putting the two together tonight for Beer and Bites, a local celebration of craft beer and food in the Glebe.
Tantalize your taste buds with locally-made Kichesippi craft beer and fill your tummy with delicious eats, courtesy Chefanie.
The event runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Glebe Community Centre, with tickets at $65. Register now here.
If you’re in the mood to watch the future stars of hockey, you’re in luck, as the Ottawa 67s play two back-to-back home games this weekend on Friday and Saturday night at the Arena at TD Place.
First, it’s the conference-worst Sudbury Wolves who blow into town Friday night for a 7 p.m. tilt against the Ottawa 67s. The Wolves will be hungry as they look to snap a five-game losing streak. The 67s are in a similar boat, as they try to win their first game in the last 4 contests. The 67s sit in 7th overall in the Eastern Conference.
Saturday will a much tougher affair, as the powerhouse London Knights roll into Ottawa for an afternoon game at 1 p.m. London sits in 3rd place in the Western Conference with 85 points. Click here for tickets to both games.
If you’re looking to get out shopping Sunday afternoon, the Glebe is always open for business. Check out our online directory of unique shops, restaurants and services here. And you can always drop by the Aberdeen Pavilion every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Ottawa Farmers’ Winter Market. Come check out fresh food and artisan products from local artists.
And even if the Rideau Canal is closed due to mild temperatures, you can always strap up the laces and carves figure-8s at the refrigerated rink at Lansdowne.
Just show up in the Glebe and you will find more than a few things to do.
See you this weekend. Go 67s Go!
