$10,000 “Glebe-Spree” Campaign is Back in Time for Holiday Shopping
Today the Glebe BIA announced that the $10,000 Glebe-Spree Campaign is back for the 2012 holiday season.
The Glebe-Spree was developed in 2011 to encourage shopping after the City of Ottawa’s extensive Bank Street Reconstruction project. The campaign offers shoppers a chance to win a $10,000 shopping spree to be used at any participating business located in the Glebe. Last years campaign saw over 10,000 entries. Due to the success of the program, the Glebe BIA made the decision to re-launch the program for the 2012 holiday season.
“Glebe-Spree allows us to reward our faithful customers and to invite new clients to discover all that the Glebe has to offer,” says Glebe BIA Chair Greg Best. “This year we have made it even easier to enter with an online entry system. Once you have a completed ballot you can just enter your unique pin code on your passport either through our <a href=”https://www.facebook.com/InTheGlebe?fref=ts”>Facebook page</a> or at <a href=”http://www.glebebia.com/contest/”>glebespree.ca</a>.”
Passports are now available for shoppers to pick up at the Glebe BIA office and at participating Glebe businesses while some will be delivered directly to select postal codes in the Ottawa area.
The Passport is a mini-brochure, which provides a business directory along with the Glebe-Spree contest details and entry forms. The Passport consists of pages that shoppers can use to collect stickers for every $20 they spend at participating locations in the Glebe. Unique PIN CODES are also on the passport to allow online entry. Once $200 worth of stickers is collected, the contest can be entered online at <a href=”https://www.facebook.com/InTheGlebe?fref=ts”>facebook.com/InTheGlebe</a> or at <a href=”http://www.glebebia.com/contest/”>GlebeSpree.ca</a>. Alternatively the filled in ballot page can be removed from the Passport and dropped off at any participating Glebe business to be entered into the draw for a $10,000 shopping spree in the Glebe.
The prize money was generously donated by the Glebe BIA, Scotiabank (Bank & Fourth), McKeen Metro, Minto and Trinity Development Group.
November 19th marks the official launch of the campaign and a live radio broadcast on Saturday November 24th.
The contest runs until December 31st, 2012 with a draw date of January 7th, 2013.
