You may not be able to watch Ottawa’s newest soccer club fight for their first-ever victory in person, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get together with a bunch of footy fans to take in Sunday’s Atlético Ottawa match on the field at TD Place.
The team is hosting a viewing party for this Sunday’s match vs. Forge FC from the Island Games in Prince Edward Island and they’re inviting soccer fans to pack the field at TD Place to watch on the big screen.
Atlético opened up the season with a 2-2 draw against York9 in mid August before dropping a 4-0 blowout to the Valour the week after. The team got back on track with a draw against Edmonton, but are still looking for that first elusive win.
That could come Thursday when Atlético faces off against the first place Cavalry from Calgary, or on Sunday, when 100 screaming fans will be watching live from TD Place.
The new Canadian Premiere League season will see a 24-game season, followed by a four-team group stage, semi-finals and then the championship. All games this season are being held at the University of PEI.
Doors at TD Place open at 2 p.m. Sunday with a 100-person limit to adhere to social distancing rules. Get your tickets now, they will certainly sell out. Tickets are $12.50 per person.
Go, Atlético, Go!
